I did a thing I said I’d never do: I booked an inside stateroom on a Disney cruise.

And as someone who absolutely thrives on sunlight, I was a little skeptical. 😂

But after staying in an inside cabin on the Disney Magic, here are a few things that surprised me:

✨ It never felt claustrophobic. The rooms are small, but I never felt closed in. We had two connecting rooms for our family of six, with the boys in one and us in the other.

✨ The split bathroom makes a BIG difference. Having the bathroom and shower separated made getting everyone ready so much easier.

✨ We were barely in the room anyway. We were cruising with friends and were so busy with everything happening onboard that our room was basically our cozy little cave for sleeping.

✨ There was plenty of storage. Closets, drawers, and even space under the bed for our suitcases meant we never felt like we were living out of our luggage.

✨ We saved a LOT. And saving on the stateroom meant we could put that money toward doing more Disney cruises. I’m always here for that math.

✨ And the Magic surprised me. I worried that being on Disney’s oldest ship would mean the room felt outdated, but I actually loved the classic ship design. It felt charming rather than dated.

Would I book an inside cabin every time? Probably not. I still love a little sunlight. ☀️

But would I book one again? Absolutely.

And honestly, this is exactly why choosing the right stateroom matters. It’s not just about inside vs. oceanview vs. verandah — location, layout, deck, and how you actually plan to use the room all make a difference.

Travel agent story time… because sometimes booking a Disney vacation feels a little like playing Where’s Waldo? But Waldo is a hotel room. 😂

I was booking multiple rooms for a family’s Disney World trip. I had most of the rooms secured on Disney’s complimentary 3-day hold, but one room just wouldn't cooperate.

It wasn’t available.

I checked again.

Still not available.

I looked for something comparable.

Also not available.

So I called my Disney Travel Agent phone line because sometimes you just need another set of eyes and a little Disney magic.

The agent helping me searched too. No luck.

We started talking through our options. Maybe we could get the family booked somewhere else and keep checking. Maybe something would open up later.

And then she said, “Let me refresh and see what’s available.”

She refreshed.

**THE EXACT ROOM I NEEDED APPEARED.**

Like… literally the exact room.

She grabbed it and put it on hold before it could disappear again.

We both laughed because WHAT ARE THE ODDS?! 😂

It was one of those perfect little travel-agent moments where you just sit there thinking, Well, apparently we were supposed to have this room.

And honestly, I was so glad I made the phone call instead of just accepting that the room wasn’t available.

Because sometimes the job isn't just finding the room.

It's knowing when to keep looking, who to call, and having the patience to see what happens next.

And now my clients are getting exactly what they wanted.

I'll take that as a win for today. ✨

If I could plan a Disneyland trip for ANY time in 2027, these are the dates I’d be looking at first.

When helping clients choose travel dates, I’m balancing crowds, weather, pricing, and what’s happening in the parks.

A few windows I’d have on my radar:

January 11–28
February 1–12
April 12–30
September 7–24
November 1–18

The “best” dates depend on what matters most to your family. But if you have flexibility, these are some of the windows I’d consider first.
