Midwifery care is centered on honoring the process of natural birth. When the natural process is encouraged, fewer complications result. A midwife works closely with you to nurture your physical and emotional well- being throughout the childbearing cycle. This includes individualized education, emotional support and friendship, prenatal care, continuous care throughout labor and delivery, and postpartum care for both you and your baby.

Some gifts just make you stop for a moment and feel extra grateful for the work we get to do. 🤍🥹

This beautiful basket came from a sweet mama of twins whose care we shared with an OB, and it truly touched our hearts. Getting to be part of a family’s journey is such a gift in itself, and when a family takes the time to think of us and show us kindness in return, it means more than we can put into words.

We pour so much of our hearts into caring for the families who trust us, and moments like this remind us just how special those connections really are. It’s never about receiving anything in return, but these thoughtful gestures make us feel so seen, appreciated, and loved.

To this sweet mama, thank you for thinking of us and for such a thoughtful gift. We are so grateful we got to be a part of your family’s story. And to all the families who have welcomed us into such tender, sacred seasons of life, please know that your trust means the world to us. 🤍

🎉 SHE DID IT! 🎉

My heart is so full of pride as I get to announce that Nicole has officially passed her national certification exam and is now a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)! 🤍

After several years of working alongside me as a student midwife, she has reached this incredible milestone, and I couldn’t be more proud. Getting to share this journey with my daughter has been such a gift, and I feel so blessed to watch her step into this calling of her own.

I can’t wait to see all the beautiful families she will serve and the babies she will help welcome into the world. 🥹

The next generation of midwifery is here, and it’s such an honor to walk this path together. 🤍

Help me congratulate Nicole on this amazing accomplishment! 🎉

✨ A glimpse into a birth with us! 🤍

There’s something special about getting a little peek into what birth looks like from the midwife’s side.

The carefully packed supplies, the Doppler checking baby’s heartbeat, the tools we bring along, and all the little things that help us care for a mama as she works to bring her baby earthside.

Sometimes birth is quiet and slow. Sometimes things move quickly. There are moments of laughter, moments of intensity, and moments when the entire world seems to stand still as a baby takes their first breath.

We never take for granted the honor of being invited into these sacred spaces and walking alongside families as they welcome their little ones. 🕊️

This is home birth midwifery. A little preparation, a lot of heart, and the privilege of witnessing new life unfold.

📦 What’s in your birth kit?

Around 36 weeks, you’ll receive your birth kit—filled with many of the supplies we’ll use during your home birth and in those first days postpartum.

Inside you’ll find disposable supplies like sterile gloves, chux pads, sterile gauze, plastic sheets, and more. We also include some special things for you and baby, like baby’s first hat and diaper, a peri bottle, perineal cold pack, postpartum pull-ups and pads for those first couple of days, herbs and homeopathics for mom and baby… and so much more! 🤍

We’ll also give you a list of simple things you likely already have at home to gather and set aside for your birth. That way, when the big day arrives, everything you need is ready to go!

One less thing to worry about while you’re waiting to meet your baby. 🏡✨

📋 The not-so-glamorous side of midwifery… paperwork. 😂

As much as we LOVE being midwives, we have to admit that paperwork is probably not our favorite part of the job.

We’d much rather be getting to know you, talking about your hopes and plans for your birth, meeting your family, feeling your growing belly, or spending time with you during those sweet postpartum visits. 🤍

But behind every home birth midwife is a whole lot of charting, forms, records, care plans, lab results, consents, and documentation. 📚✏️

It may not be the most exciting part of what we do, but it’s an important part of making sure you receive thorough, safe, and well-documented care throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.

So if you see us buried behind a stack of charts… just know we’re probably dreaming about the part of our job where we get to put the paperwork down and spend time with YOU. 🥰

Paperwork may be part of midwifery… but relationships are the heart of it. 💕
