Today is a reminder of just how special our waterways, wildlife, and natural spaces are. One of the best ways to appreciate the environment is to experience it firsthand.

Did you know that Florida Water Tours founded Florida Water Warriors, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on marine science education?

Since its founding, Florida Water Warriors has reached more than 6,200 students and provided over $15,000 in financial assistance to underserved youth, helping make environmental education accessible to all. We're excited to continue growing this impact through the new Florida Water Warriors Headquarters, which will provide expanded opportunities for students to learn about and protect our coastal environment.

You can support this mission through our educational tours, Marine Field Experiences, and Cruise for a Cause on July 18th, where proceeds from select cruises directly benefit Florida Water Warriors.

Sea turtle nesting season is officially underway in St. Johns County 🐢 From May 1st through October 31st, endangered and threatened sea turtles return to Northeast Florida’s beaches to nest.

Our local beaches are home to nesting loggerhead, green, and leatherback sea turtles, and in recent years, even rare Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles have been spotted. Thanks to ongoing conservation efforts, St. Johns County now sees close to 1,000 sea turtle nests each season.

You can help protect these incredible animals by:
🐢 Keeping our beaches clean
🐢 Filling in holes and knocking down sandcastles
🐢 Removing chairs and tents before leaving
🐢 Avoiding flashlights and bright lights at night
🐢 Respecting dunes and conservation areas
🐢 Staying alert for turtles while boating
