Our final adventure of the desert fall season had us down in the familiar territory of the Escalante River.

We enjoyed time well spent with Four Corners Exploration and their cohort of amazing leaders. Together we worked as a team to filter water, navigate a watershed dramatically changed by this season's rainfall/flooding, and learn the basics of backpacking.

As fall reaches its peak in the mountains, we've been enjoying the fresh crisp in the high desert.

When women gather, especially in nature, it is powerful. We teach each other, we hold space for vulnerability in doing a hard thing, and we laugh so so hard.

This backpacking trip was exactly that. Thank you to all the women who trusted us to teach you how to backpack. We laughed, cried, danced, learned new games under the kitchen tarp, and watched rabbits have post rain zoomies.

Our team spent part of August on a little recon mission to Oregon's high desert; catching up with old friends, wandering through new landscapes, and researching what might just become a future Mavens adventure.

And, well...how about this scenery?!

We take a lot of pride in seeking out the places that make us stop in our tracks. The ones that feel a little wild, a little unexpected, and worthy of slowing down long enough to really experience them.

While we're UT desert people at heart, there was something pretty damn enticing about Bend, the Cascades, and the way the high desert meets volcanoes, alpine lakes, and endless forests.

Behind every Mavens itinerary is plenty of curiosity, recon, wrong turns, conversations with locals, and time spent actually getting out there and experiencing a place for ourselves.
