Today was an absolute surprise!
I’ve known my client Brianna since she was 15 , that’s about 15 years ago .
I’ve always done her color and highlights, taken her dark and then light again, even red and highlights again.
She recently had a baby, went dark at another salon a few months ago. Which is fine. Sometimes location and convenience wins.
But I worked on her hair today, thinking this was gonna take the usual 3 hr process. It’s a rule of thumb for my time Management.
Now normally whenever a dark color is applied else where, you never know what brand they use and it could clash with your brand.
But in this case, only the back left hand side was the issue. Those foils on that section of the hair were applied second , and became very hot by the time I was done with all the foils.
I checked the entire back and that side was steaming! Meaning something on her hair was causing a chemical reaction , but only that small section of the hair.
So of course I immediately rinsed and treated with a nourishing hair mask while the rest needed more time to process.
Fast forward, it was time to gently wash , treat and tone .
I picked this beautiful toffee color to blend in with her dark hair and give her a subtle touch of beige brown.
To treat her hair some more, I used Kenra ph balance spray before applying the toner.
Then to style , that was an hr by itself.
I used the split end mender that works miracles! Lasts 4 wks, before having to apply again.
Lots of breakage , literally hair melted, it was not a pretty site. But sometimes these things happen in the salon. Especially when you don’t know what products or brands are used over a course of several months. It could have been medication, chlorine , products that contain lots of alcohol, etc.
either way the split end me ser from the Brazilian blowout collection worked beautifully.
Silky straight hair with sealed cuticles.
Damage hair will eventually heal with the right products.
Whew!! 😅
