Back in the early ’70s, my dad, Zeljko Vrbanovic — the legend 🙌🙌🙌 — and, in my eyes, still holding the throne! 💪
Here he is working aboard the MAURITANIA out of San Pedro, California, single-handedly operating the brailer net loaded with Yellowfin tuna 🐟💪
A different era of commercial tuna fishing, when it took strength, skill, and a whole lot of hard work to get the job done.
So next time you see a StarKist tuna can sitting on the shelf, this is a look back at how tuna was caught and brought aboard back in those days. 👍🎣
