Scotland Day-6: Dumbarnie Links.

Our last big golf day before traveling home. Dumbarnie is an Amazing modern links course with generous fairways and a couple short risk/reward pay 4’s. We had another great weather day and a fun group of caddies.

On the way to our round we stopped at an old pagan site called Dunino den. Archaeological and historical evidence suggests the site has been a center of spiritual significance since as early as 4000 BC.

Scotland 2026-Day 5: Kingsbarns Golf Links.

One of my favorite places on earth, the views, conditions and service at Kingsbarns are unmatched. We had another day of incredible and a ton of laughs. Sadly my caddy friend, Craig couldn’t make it, but Gordon and Paul had us laughing all day.

We followed our round with 18 holes of putt-putt golf at the St Andrews Ladies Pitting Club, aha the Himalayas and dinner at Criterion. The steak and ale pie is my favorite meal in Scotland.

Scotland 2026-Day 4: Carnoustie Championship Course.

Our day began with lunch at the home of my caddy/Malcolm Scott aka Molly. Next we hit the pro shop for some Carnoustie swag before meeting up with our caddies for the round. Conditions we cloudy and cool with the course in impeccable condition. I shot 79 with a messy Van De Velde-like double bogey on 18. You need to score early at Carnoustie because holes 14-18 are truly the toughest finishing holes on golf.

Scotland 2026-Day 3: St Andrews Castle Course.

My first experience at the Castle Course and I was impressed. A very hilly course with a lot of blond shots led me to regret my decision not to take a caddy. Managed to shoot a respectable 82. The views of the North Sea and the town of St Andrews were incredible, as was the weather. I’m really happy we chose to play there. We finished the day with a great dinner at The Saint before retiring for the evening.

Scotland 2026 - Day 2: St Andrews New Course

After a good night of sleep we took on the New Course. Erik made his first birdie in Scotland on hole 1. The weather was perfect; 62 with a light wind. We capped off the round with a bevy, followed by dinner at Forgan’s and ice cream from Jannetta’s . Day 3 is the Castle Course, a course I’ve yet to play. Should be another great day of golf.

Scotland 2026 Day 1:

After a long, red-eye travel day & little to no sleep, we arrived in Edinburgh. We were greeted by a cool drizzle and a warm Scottish breakfast before making our way to Elie. A hidden gem, Elie features 2par 3’s and 16 par 4’s and is the third oldest golf course in the world. We followed our round with dinner at the 19th Hole before completing our drive to St Andrews. Tomorrow we are on the St Andrews News Course. The weather is supposed to be great the rest of the week.
