Looks like we have hit the big 5-0! In 2025, visitors spent over 50 million dollars in our community, which is a 29.4% percent increase since 2018! That spending helps our businesses thrive, provides jobs for local families, and saves each household an estimated 444 dollars in taxes.

Tourism Director Beth Pippin shared, “Tourism continues to be Hardin County’s strongest economic engine. Our beauty, history, and outdoor adventure keep drawing visitors, and we are proud to see that momentum growing year after year.”

From the waters of the Tennessee River to our historic landmarks and outdoor adventures, Hardin County offers experiences that keep visitors coming back.

Every tradition has a backstory

When the Hardin County Agricultural Fair - Savannah, TN announced their "A Hardin County Tradition" theme, we knew we had to showcase our county's history. With the help of the Tennessee River Museum and the Hardin County Historical Society, we created our Hardin County history display "Take a Trip Through Hardin County History". Come grab a funnel cake, hop on a ride and see our booth August 28th-September 5th.

Can't make it in person? Flip through the full display here: https://online.fliphtml5.com/explorepickwicklake/Fair-Timeline-flipbook/

Help shape the future of bass fishing in Tennessee.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is asking anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to help guide the future of black bass management by sharing feedback on the Tennessee Black Bass Management Plan.

The draft plan was developed through a collaborative effort between TWRA and a stakeholder advisory committee representing a wide range of bass fishing interests. It outlines long-term goals, objectives, and strategies to help provide quality bass fishing experiences across Tennessee. The plan serves as guidance for future management decisions, but it does not replace the existing process for setting fishing regulations.

You can get involved by:
• Read the draft plan
• Watch a short overview video
• Complete the online survey (anonymous)
• Attend one of five open-house public meetings across the state

Public comment is open through Sept. 4, 2026.

Public Meeting Schedule (all times local):
• Aug. 11 – Paris | 6–7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 18 – Birchwood | 6–7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 20 – Kodak | 6–7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 25 – Nashville | 6–7:30 p.m.
• Aug. 27 – Johnson City | 6–7:30 p.m.

Learn more, review the plan, and submit your feedback here: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/a80f53a729b54cef8a25cd877aebdc28
