A shoutout to the pigeon guillemot, a seabird that we see frequently on our tours. Easily identified by their bright red legs, we usually see them flying and happened to find them perched on kelp-covered rocks at low tide today. Oh, and a few sea stars were hanging out on that same rock too!

We really enjoyed watching this mother and baby mountain goat pair climb the steep cliffs from the beach where we first saw them up into the alpine. It is amazing how agile these creatures are on such steep terrain!

Just chillin’ with a mom and baby humpback pair along Caines Head. A mom and baby mountain goat make an appearance on the beach behind these whales.

Incredible bow views of yesterday’s super active humpback whale! Breaching isn’t as common in Alaska as it is in Hawaii or Mexico where the whales winter, but it definitely does happen!
