Did you know? The train depot in Old Town Spring isnt the original train depot for this railroad town. The original train depot sat closer to the iconic Wunsche Brothers Cafe. The train depot that sits there today is originally from Lovelady, Texas. To this day it is still Puffabellys restaurant.. (and the food is still amazing!)

Happy Saturday! No tours tonight.. today is moving day! Yay!

I dont have a lot of followers but I will share this anyways. Things are hard for small businesses, there are a ton of them struggling. If you are near the Greater Houston area looking for places to shop and eat and enjoy some southern hospitality then Old Town Spring, Texas is a great place to visit. These are family owned shops, restaurants and we have so many hidden gems in this town. Lynn's table is one of many! Some of the best food and service around. There is something for everyone in this town..from record stores, kava and coffee shops to home decor and ice cream. Come visit and see!

A heartfelt request from Matthew and Jessica.

For 11 years, we've had the privilege of welcoming you to Lynn's Table. We've shared meals, celebrated special occasions, watched families grow, and built friendships that mean more to us than words can express.

Many of you have become more than guests. We consider you part of our extended family.

Today, we're reaching out to that family with a heartfelt request.

Rising operating expenses and significant financial challenges have placed tremendous pressure on our restaurant. Alongside these challenges, Matthew has also faced significant medical needs.

Through it all, we've continued doing what we love: welcoming you, preparing meals we're proud to serve, and caring for the people who make Lynn's Table what it is.

Our employees are more than our staff. They're family, and their well-being matters deeply to us.

We've created a GoFundMe specifically to help sustain Lynn's Table. Every donation will go toward essential restaurant expenses, including staffing, operating bills, inventory, and necessary repairs.

Asking for help isn't easy, but we believe in this restaurant, the people who make it special, and the future we're working so hard to preserve.

If Lynn's Table has ever been a place where you've enjoyed a meal, celebrated a milestone, or simply felt at home, we hope you'll consider supporting us.

Every contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much. If you're unable to give, sharing our story or keeping us in your prayers would be just as appreciated.

Thank you for 11 wonderful years of allowing us to serve you. With your support, we hope to continue welcoming you to our table for many years to come.

With love and gratitude,
Matthew & Jessica

This is Juliane O. Wuensche (1876–1959), and her stone marks the last known burial in the Wunsche Family Cemetery in Spring, Texas. 🕊️

If you've driven I-45 north near Cypresswood, you've passed right by her without knowing it. The cemetery sits on a small strip of land between the freeway and the northbound feeder road, shaded by old oaks, with express lane signs overhead and traffic rushing past on both sides.

Juliane was laid to rest here in 1959, just before the interstate came through in the 1960s. Instead of relocating the graves, the highway was built around them.

The Wunsches were among the first German immigrants to settle Spring. Carl Wunsche arrived from Saxony in the 1840s, and the family went on to run a cotton gin and sawmill and build the Wunsche Bros. Saloon & Hotel in Old Town Spring in 1902. Their name is still on the café, on a school, and on this quiet patch of ground most people never notice.

Next time you're stuck in traffic near Cypresswood, look over. There's a lot of Spring history sitting right there.

"Death is Another Life" is the inscribed text at the bottom of this grave. Olena and her boyfriend Edward were murdered in 1929 and their bodies were found 7 miles apart. Many people believe she is not at rest because her murder remains unsolved nearly 100 year later. Have you visited this cemetery?
