We had a huge storm in Zion this week along with some rockfalls and mudslides, but there are a lot of awesome park employees and volunteers who have helped with cleaning up the damage so everything is in order for Labor Day weekend.

✨ Guide Spotlight: Meet Tony Ciccariello ✨

Originally from Tarzana, California, Tony came to Zion Guide Hub after years as a machinist, contractor, builder, hiker, and bike lover.

He first joined us wanting to become a bicycle mechanic, but what kept him here was the calling to guide. After time in places like Angels Landing and The Narrows, Tony realized that Zion doesn’t just impress people, it changes them.

🌟 GUIDE SPOTLIGHT: CODY DOTSON 🌟

If you’ve spent time around Zion Guide Hub lately, you’ve probably crossed paths with Cody. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Cody found his way to Zion after relocating from the Grand Canyon and has quickly become a valued member of our guide team.

When he’s not leading guests through some of the most incredible landscapes in the Southwest, you’ll likely find him trail running, backpacking, reading, writing, or planning his next adventure under the stars.

This summer, Cody will be leading many of our Bryce Canyon hiking experiences, sharing his passion for the outdoors and helping guests discover one of the most unique landscapes in the world.

Beyond guiding, Cody is passionate about expanding outdoor access and education. He’s currently working on developing wheelchair-accessible outdoor experiences and astronomy programming to help more people connect with the natural world.

And if stargazing is your thing, be sure to ask Cody about the astronomy trips he’s operating on his own. His knowledge of the night sky and love for sharing it make for an unforgettable experience.

Meet Riley James 📸🌄

Originally from Ventura, CA, Riley brings a super unique mix of creativity, adventure, and positive energy to the Zion Guide Hub team. Before joining us, she worked as a photographer and content creator for some huge companies and she still runs her own photography business on the side shooting weddings, portraits, music, events, and more.

When she’s not out guiding in Zion, you can usually find her hiking, practicing yoga, road tripping, cooking, gardening, reading, or chasing sunsets with a camera in hand 📷

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend in Zion is HERE 🇺🇸

It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year in Zion National Park, so here are a few pro tips from the locals to help you make the most of your adventure 👇

1️⃣ Shuttle lines can reach 1+ hour waits by mid-morning. Skip the lines and explore Zion by e-bike 🚴

2️⃣ Get into the park EARLY. We recommend arriving around 6 AM if you want a quieter experience and cooler temperatures.

3️⃣ Don’t just stay in the main canyon. Some of the best adventures are OUTSIDE the park! Try canyoneering, climbing, hiking, or mountain biking for fewer crowds and epic scenery.

4️⃣ Parking fills up FAST in Springdale and inside the park. Plan ahead and arrive early.

5️⃣ Temperatures are heating up ☀️ Bring more water than you think you need and don’t underestimate the desert.
