I need your help. I have spent the last couple of weeks making a Shark Tooth Identifier and I'm ready to have you try it out and help me work out the kinks. Firstly, it's not complete. I have only added the most common shark's teeth that I find in my area. I have incorporated it into my webpage and I have made it so that you can drag and drop a photo or select one through your file explorer. I have two main issues that I'm trying to resolve and I think once I find a solution to these problems, everything else will fall into place. The first issue that I'm having trouble with is that it always give an answer. Right now it only knows five species of shark's teeth (more will be added this week) and if it gets a tooth that is not in it's database then it guesses instead of saying that it doesn't know. The second issue is if you upload a photo of a broken tooth, it assumes that you are showing a whole tooth and it will incorrectly identify it.
I'm looking for more bugs to work out and that's where you can help. Please upload some of your shark teeth photos and see if my site gets them correct. I would love to hear your feedback. I've added a confidence percentage and facts about the tooth you are trying to identify. Let me know if you can think of other ideas for the Shark Tooth Identifier.
