The Washington State Fair Event Center opens TODAY in Puyallup, which means it’s officially time for fried food, questionable ride decisions, tiny pigs, big Ferris wheel energy and somehow spending way more time in the animal barns than you planned 🐷

The Fair runs through Sept. 27 and is closed Tuesdays, plus Wednesday, Sept. 9.

To know a place, it helps to know the people who have called it home for generations ✨

The Puyallup Tribe’s culture, traditions and stories are deeply woven into Tacoma and the surrounding region — not only in its history, but in the community that continues to thrive here today.

These moments were captured during the Puyallup Tribe’s World Cup Powwow, celebrating culture, community and tradition on an international stage.

And there’s another opportunity to experience that living culture soon. The 47th Annual Puyallup Tribal Labor Day Powwow returns September 4–6 in Tacoma, with the public welcome.

Sometimes it’s better to wander slowly. Linger over breakfast. Browse the bookstore a little longer than planned. Paddle without watching the clock. Stay somewhere with a little personality. Romanticize the small moments just because you can 🥹
