Day 2: a day at sea

We spent the day familiarizing ourselves with the ship. Room service for breakfast (just put the tag outside your door the night before and they will deliver in the morning!), Royal Gathering for some princess meet and greets, afternoon tea on our balcony, and formal night at Rapunzel’s Royal Table.

Day 1: boarding the Disney Magic in Vancouver as we set sail for Alaska!

We had a 12:45pm port arrival time, so we walked over to the port from our hotel across the street around 12:30. We left our bags with our hotel to be transferred to the ship earlier that morning, which made boarding much easier. The bags were outside our stateroom door early that evening.

Once on board we enjoyed lunch at Lumiere’s, a special sit down meal for concierge guests only, peaked in the concierge lounge, visited the kid’s clubs, and went to our room. The girls ran off to the pool while we unpacked.

Each Disney Cruise Line ship has 3 main dining rooms, and you rotate through them during your cruise. The first night for us was Animator’s Palate. Then we headed off to the Walt Disney Theater for a special premiere viewing of the new live action Moana movie.

This week we are staying in a Concierge one bedroom suite with verandah on the Disney Magic. The room has a living room with queen sleeper sofa, a separate master bedroom with queen size bed and two full bathrooms, as well as a large verandah.

My kids went to sleepaway camp last week, so what did I do? I went to Walt Disney World without them😂.

There’s something to be said about going at your own pace, enjoying all the adult beverages and actually making it to the nighttime shows. Don’t worry - I still missed them and can’t wait for our next family trip together!
