Out off the southwest coast of Ireland, Fastnet Lighthouse stands on a small rock known as Fastnet Rock, about 13 km from the mainland. The current tower was built in 1904 and rises roughly 54 meters, making it the tallest lighthouse in Ireland.

It’s often called the “Teardrop of Ireland,” as it was the last sight of home for emigrants heading west across the Atlantic.
