Today is Endangered Species Day, and we’re celebrating one of Hawaiʻi’s rarest marine mammals: the Hawaiian monk seal. 💙

These endangered seals can sometimes be seen resting along Maui’s shoreline, and giving them space is one of the best ways to help protect them.

You can help by staying back, keeping beaches clean, never disturbing resting wildlife, and reminding others to admire monk seals from a respectful distance.

Small choices help protect Hawaiian monk seals for generations to come. 🌊🦭
