If you're visiting Maui from December to April, you must go whale watching! Hawaii hosts thousands of humpback whales during peak season from January to March. Pride of Maui offers daily narrated tours from Māʻalaea Harbor, complete with an expert crew, a snorkel stop, and equipment. Book in advance, as these tours often sell out.

More than 250 species of tropical fish live in Molokini, including the Parrotfish. With their beak-like teeth, they graze on seaweeds growing on rocks and dead corals, biting off chunks and turning them into fine sand. A large Parrotfish can produce up to one ton of sand each year!
