We enjoyed the morning with some fellow Florida anglers, searching hard for fish. We did manage to bring up four mahi, but boy oh boy is hasn’t been easy the past few days finding fish! It’s a good reminder that out here in Hawaii, we can sometimes have a fantastic fishery but each day can be vastly different. While conditions have been great for us, the fish have been getting harder and harder to find through the week. So our goal every charter is to make sure our clients have a great day on the water, no matter what the fishing is like!

Hard work yesterday finding mahi, but we managed to pull four on board with my long lost cousins. Not very often have I ment anyone with my same last name! A few people aren’t pictured with the fish here due to privacy requests. I always ask client’s permission to take photos of them and post their faces on social media. We just all wanna see the fish!

Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable morning on the water with this crew. A quick 5 hour trolling trip provided us with one nice Ono, enough for two meals for the Estep family, a meal for Gina and friends, and for Thor’s family! Ono means “delicious” in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, and it is aptly named! I made an incredible Ono tataki with yuzu ponzu sauce along with fish tacos for dinner last night. Need new inspiration for how to cook your fish after you charter with us? Always ask me or Thor for our favorite recipes!

We get asked a lot which fish were most likely to catch, and if you’ve kept up with our posts, the answer is clear- mahi, mahi, and more mahi! Some days, we could spend an 8 hour charter searching and land only one of we’re lucky. Other days the fish gods bless us with an abundance of mahi. Either way, if there’s one thing we know, it’s that this beautiful abundant species always put up a good fight before they become fish tacos!

Day two with Rob and Mica, who brought friends Julie, Steve, Landon and Jessie. The fish were hard to find and fought hard, but we still ended the day with success. Perhaps the best part of this trip was the stories that were shared. Nearly 20 years ago, Jackie, who was a triathlete, was swimming laps north of Black Rock in Ka’anapali and nearly lost her arm in a tiger shark attack. Her wrist was almost entirely severed, and the other side of the shark’s jaw wrapped around her shoulder, landing her in the hospital for three days during what was supposed to be a relaxing Hawaiian vacation. Fast forward two decades, and she is still a badass athlete who has the incredible strength to land several mahi on her own. One of my wildest stories I’ve heard on the boat, and overall top five favorite groups of people we have had the pleasure to spend the day fishing with. We have plenty of openings over the next several weeks and I would love to hear your stories while we’re out enjoying a morning on the water! Call direct or hit up our website (link in bio) to book for the best price. Kama’aina and return client rates available.

We have been slower with charters, so last week we went out with our friends and partners to some tuna buoys and we CRUSHED it! Three mahi, six or seven shibi, and a bonus 120+ lb blue marlin on the troll in. Couldn’t have asked for better fishing, weather or company!

What an incredible charter we had with this awesome group- nothing like sharing stories with clients who have worked on fishing charters before. And nothing better than absolutely slaying during these charters! We landed 14 mahi over the course of our 8 hour trip, with nonstop smiles, great conversation, and excitement.
