What better way to thank your tirelessly working mechanic, than take him and his boys out fishing?! Thanks for the hard work both on and off the water, Nick! Had an awesome time on the water with Brian William and his wife, who are both avid fishermen from the east coast. Few clients could bring a tuna like this up so well, through a pod of aggressive rough tooth dolphins, on light gear. Thanks for joining us, Brian and Calli! Well most mornings don’t end up being so lucky so quickly, but yesterday’s charter was exactly that! In under four hours we landed seven beautiful mahi, the largest (pictured with myself, last) weighed in just over 31 pounds. Most days, pure luck brings the fish on board much more than skill. Come test your luck with us and fill our schedule- give us a call!

Had an awesome day with some repeat clients, starting with a slimy ole barracuda, we then hit peak excitement with a marlin bite less than an hour later! After several empty buoys, we finally found the honeypot for mahi and shibi. Fishing days are significantly fewer and farther between this time of year, but joyfully rewarding when we do get out!

Finally the weather has cooperated, so even though we haven’t had many charters on the books, Captian Thor and I took our our besties to fish for fun! We fought 11 ahi, landed 7, and stocked up the brand new walk-in cooler my neighbors, South Maui Fish Company | Fresh Fish Daily just built!

I wanted to make another post to my current and future clients. I posted that I would let you know when the fishing is getting better. I can not guarantee that your trip will be incredible (I will do everything that I can) but I can say that the last couple trips that I have taken have made a significant improvement. Here are a couple of pictures from 2 of the last 3 trips this week, that I have been on… yes the middle trip was not quite as good… we did have a marlin strike but were not able to land it. The other 2 trips…. Well, 😀 they were kinda wonderful!

As always, we had an awesome day on the water with our favorite regular, Rick Leonard !! He always brings his good luck tako gyotaku print shirt, and amazing snacks from his previous catches fishing in the PNW. Great to see you again, Rick!

What a fun quick charter for our first day back fishing after a month on dry land! Claudia brought her husband Norm along to watch her bring in this pair of mahi- we love fellow female anglers!! Whelp, after a nearly two week run of dry dock for our vessel, Mjölnir, our first charter back was one for the books! The seas were as wild as the fishing, but well worth it. We had such a great catch, there are another ~dozen fish that didn’t fit on the dock for the photo… stoked to be back on the water again!

I wanted to get on FB and talk with all my current and hopefully future clients. I have always tried to be as honest about the conditions that we will face, whether it is THE weather (wind and waves) or the expected bite. The fishing in Maui 2026 has not been very good. Don't get me wrong, we have had a few phenomenal days, but the vast number of trips we have been hard pressed to get a couple fish on the boat. This is most likely due to the abnormal water conditions that we have been facing this year (Super El Nino) . If your expectation is large numbers of Pelagic Fish then I would rather you don't spend your hard earned money on my trips (spend it on beach days and incredible restaurants). Catching great big and huge numbers of fish might happen.... We have had some WILD trips this year....I really hope your trip will produce. If your expectation is to go out on the ocean and see what Mother Nature has in store for us, then I promise to do my absolute best to make the trip as enjoyable as I can and will continue to my best to find fish.
