A Review: Wine Bar George at Disney Springs
If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience at Disney Springs that balances a sophisticated atmosphere with incredible value, Wine Bar George is a must-visit. During a recent Friday night visit in late February, our party of four was seated upstairs at 8:00 PM. Despite the weekend buzz, the restaurant felt remarkably serene. The diffused lighting and thoughtful spacing between tables created an intimate environment where we could actually hear each other speak—a rare find for a popular Friday night spot! The seating was cozy and comfortable, making it easy to settle in for a relaxed meal.
From a planning perspective, I was impressed by their digital guest experience. Beyond the standard QR codes, they offer detailed digital menus that clearly highlight gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options, making it a breeze for diners with dietary preferences. While I didn't personally partake in the wine this evening, their reputation precedes them. They boast an extensive, internationally award-winning selection and offer a seasonal wine flight that changes regularly, ensuring there is always something new for the connoisseurs in your group.
The food, however, was the true star of the night. We started with the delicious house-made meatballs and the lamb chops with beet and feta puree—a unique and beautifully executed flavor profile. But the absolute showstopper was the Skirt Steak for two that Larry and I shared. It was cooked to a flawless medium-rare and served with roasted potatoes and a chimichurri so phenomenal I’d honestly eat it every week if I could. Every bite was juicy and seasoned to perfection. My only minor note of preference was that I would have liked the broccolini a bit more tender, but we still managed to clean the entire plate!
For the quality of ingredients and the level of service we received, Wine Bar George offers exceptional value. It’s the perfect choice for travelers who want an upscale "date night" or a polished group dinner without the eye-watering price tag of a signature steakhouse. Whether you’re a local or visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, this spot earns a permanent place on my recommendation list.
