🇲🇽 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR FAMILIES TRAVELING TO MEXICO! ✈️

If you're planning a family vacation to Cancun, Riviera Maya, or anywhere in the Mexican Caribbean, there is an important change you should be aware of!

Mexico's Senate recently approved legislation designed to strengthen protections for children and help prevent child exploitation within the tourism industry.

What does this mean for families traveling to Mexico?

Under the new requirements, hotels and other tourism providers will be required to verify the relationship between adults and minors traveling together.

📌 What should you be prepared to bring?
✅ Passports for everyone traveling
✅ A copy of your child's birth certificate showing the parent-child relationship
✅ Legal guardianship or custody documents, if applicable
✅ If traveling with grandchildren, stepchildren, or children who are not your own, additional documentation may be necessary.

While the legislation has been approved by Congress, it must be officially published in Mexico's Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) to fully take effect.

Travelers—especially families, grandparents, or extended relatives traveling with minors to Mexico—are strongly advised to proactively pack official documents (such as birth certificates, notarized parental consent forms, or legal guardianship papers) to ensure smooth hotel check-ins once the law is active.

The goal of this legislation is to keep children safe, and that's something we can all support! ❤️
