Quality Redfish are starting to show up everywhere! It’s that time of year you want to focus on 8am-noon high tide and get in hammer them and go home early. It gets hot so fast now right off the rip you can land 30+ nice mid to top slot 23-28” Redfish before 11am everyday when you have a morning incoming tide. Most of the bite for everything seems to be dead 1-3pm when it’s super hot. I don’t mess with trout or other species too much this time of year because once it’s too hot for Reds it’s usually a grind the rest of the day for anything else. We did see a couple huge tailing black drum this morning that weren’t interested and caught a few trout for fun but it’s really all about the early big Redfish bite right now till it starts cooling down in October then go back to Trout. Mixture of sea trout, sand trout, jacks and mackerel are always around when looking for more for the box but it’s not nearly as exciting as 20+ drag screaming 25”+ Redfish. Can’t wait for September!

Got stood up for the 2nd time in my career this morning. First time without an answer back till 8am so I had to wait 1.5hrs at the dock not sure what to do, so I made friends with an otter and fed him some shrimp while I waited. By the time I was ready to leave the dock solo I had already missed my tide window I wanted to redfish so it made exploring difficult but still managed a dozen reds and some nice drum before going home early. They were nice enough to cover my expenses and I got to fish solo so it wasn’t too bad of a day. Prime Redfish season is approaching next couple weeks it’s gonna be on fire soon

Had a decent day today despite a challenging bite. Started off with low tide so figured we’d play with some drum while we wait…apparently they didn’t get the memo ended up with a 15” flounder 1 14” drum and some smaller ones instead. Then decided to try for sea trout and for the first time in my life I couldn’t find one of those either so I was like well maybe the redfish will be on fire 😂. Around 1130 or so we started looking for redfish and found a nice school of them and caught at least a dozen before hooking 2 giants that both broke off 😑 thought it was gonna be a day to remember and not in a good way… but then Trey’s drag started screaming and I’m like pleaseeee don’t lose it 👀 and it came in as a fat perfect 27” red to add to our baby 19”ers lol finally decided to go load the cooler with sand trout and thank god they were easy as usual so ended with a decent box. They even got to play with the gator and tarpon at the fillet table to make it a fun ending. Thanks again guys

Did an interesting inshore consult today with a 24ft deep v proline! Challenge accepted lol but it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be to fish out of. We made it work for Redfish then Trout then Black Drum. There was 20+ of each species waiting for us at each spot which made it a lot easier to accomplish every goal I set for today. We lost a lot of big drum I can’t even explain the frustrations from going 2-12 on drum today but we made the best of it lol

Been doing fun 4-5 hr trips with 2 hrs of scalloping and 2 hours of fishing cleaning scallops while they fish. Perfect trip for kids and families this time of year to beat the heat, have fun and have a delicious dinner afterwards! The kids found over 150 scallops in 1.5 hours out of crystal river then caught 20+ trout and kept 4 for dinner. Let me know if anyone wants to get on this kind of trip with your friends or family!

Proud of my little hunters and gatherers today. Everytime we go scalloping we do a quick trout drift afterwards. Low tide was at 10am we probably should’ve got to the scallop grounds like 9am but we didn’t leave Ocala till 930 so we got there around 11 and the visibility and incoming tide can make it a challenge sometimes which was expected. We hopped in got 30 each stop for 3 stops and decided to drift for trout around 130. Got 6 keeper trout rather quickly and wrapped it up around 230 and headed in. Grabbed some frozen shrimp from the freezer and I was impressed with the fresh seafood options we had when we got home. Let me know if you want to do a little scallop/fish combo

Another successful consult today. John got to see where the fish are, how to catch them, how to safely navigate yankeetown and learn how use his electronics to find fish! Redfish bite wasn’t great again but we got a few decent slot fish then played with Blackdrum the rest of the day. If you have a boat and need help catching more fish or learning how to use your equipment let me know
