We took a bay cruise on a cruise ship excursion and was not disappointed. Definitely one of the highlights of the stops in Vietnam, mainly for the sheer natural beauty of the place. Unfortunately it was rather cold and overcast in January, but there were photo opportunities at every turn of the islets. The local families selling things, going from boat to boat was definitely a surprise, but added to the cultural landscape of the place.
