🏝 Phu Quoc Named Asia’s Most Beautiful Island
The most anticipated global travel award of the year – the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards by U.S. magazine Condé Nast Traveler – has officially recognized Phu Quoc Island as one of the world’s most stunning destinations, naming it the most beautiful island in Asia and third globally. The awards are determined through independent evaluations conducted by experts and journalists by strict criteria and voted on by readers worldwide.
According to the ranking this year, Phu Quoc scored an impressive 95.51 points, higher than last year and rising to the top among all Asian destinations. The score reflects travelers' satisfaction across multiple criteria, from service quality, scenery, beach beauty, and unique cuisine to the warmth of local hospitality.
This remarkable score propelled "Pearl Island" to third place worldwide, behind only two U.S. islands: Hilton Head Island (96.39) and Kiawah Island (95.52), far surpassing other renowned names such as the Maldives (92.31 points), Maui in Hawaii (93.35 points), Bali (89.84 points), and Phuket (84.62 points).
This recognition is considered a remarkable milestone for Phu Quoc, marking the fourth consecutive year that "Pearl Island" has been featured in the rankings, with continuous improvements in both score and global position each year.
Phu Quoc’s impressive rise reflects its increasing global appeal. While its stunning natural landscapes remain its strongest asset, the island has rapidly developed a comprehensive tourism ecosystem, especially in the south, featuring world-class entertainment, high-end artistic shows, and luxury resorts that meet international standards. In addition, it stands out as the only destination in Vietnam with an exceptional visa policy, offering 30-day visa-free entry to all foreign travelers.
Most significantly, Sun Phu Quoc Airways, a new airline brand named after "Pearl Island", is set to launch its inaugural flight on November 1, 2025, linking travelers from both within Vietnam and abroad to this paradise island.
According to the An Giang Department of Tourism, Phu Quoc received 1.2 million foreign arrivals between January and September, up 65.8 percent year-on-year and surpassing this year's target of 1 million. So far this year, Phu Quoc Island has welcomed 6.5 million visitors, including domestic travelers, already surpassing last year's total of 5.9 million.
Phu Quoc’s achievement in Condé Nast Traveler’s awards is not just recognition. It is a testament to the island’s remarkable transformation. Once an undiscovered destination with limited offerings, Phu Quoc has evolved into a true “global phenomenon".
