You've come a long way already
Much further than you ever believed you could
So be proud of yourself
For all your overcoming and enduring
For your staying power and grit
For your patience with yourself
And your own becoming
For sticking with yourself through the hardest times imaginable
For carrying that tiny spark of hope
That still glowed in your heart no matter what you faced
Yes, you've come a very long way already
And to be still here, breathing, feeling and loving
Is testament to your courage, your heart and your faith in life
But above all, your faith in yourself
Even when you doubted yourself utterly
And, if you can come this far and through all that,
Then you CAN move forwards
And, although you may not be able to see where or what towards
Trust that each step is all you need to take
And then the next one, and the next
And that is all.
