Heritage Is Always Personal And Political! x

Some throwbacks to my first year of doing the Tours while I was just following my nose emerging out of Covid until I had an entire business on my hands without even taking myself very seriously…
I can’t believe it’s been five-years-and-change since .justtev and humoured me and met up for a walk on Adderley Street. I know I love my work because I always, always feel like I just started last week and I’m only giving people a fuller picture now (and I’m sure I’ll feel much the same going forwards, check in with me next year!). Every way in which I’ve attained any courtesy, self-esteem and greater curiosity over the last few years has been down to the duty and discipline I’ve felt towards the stories I’ve needed to share and the places I’ve helped people feel safe and fascinated in.
I want to continue ad infinitum, and also overcome my fears and write my books, meet a million new beautiful people and be humbled in all the most productive and least traumatising ways etc. etc.
As you can probably guess, the build up to Braai Day and Beyond is my professional Christmas so flip through for some more throwback pics and my overstuffed schedule to come!
