Did you know? The Woodland Kingfisher doesn’t actually spend most of its time near water. Unlike many other kingfishers, these bright blue birds are often found in woodlands and open savannahs, where they hunt insects, small reptiles, and other tiny prey from tree branches.

Their loud call is also one of the sounds many travellers remember most from an African safari morning.
