More tourists from Europe and the US are visiting South Africa. This is supported by data showing strong arrivals from overseas markets in April 2025.
Germany recorded a 36.7% year-on-year increase in overseas tourist arrivals, pointing to growing demand from European markets, though some still trail pre-COVID levels.
The United States was the second-largest overseas source market, contributing 26,095 tourists. Of these, 3,878 stayed 15 days or more – highlighting opportunities for longer-stay, high-value tourism experiences.
