Ask ChatGPT to plan two weeks in Southeast Asia and within seconds you have flights, hotels, activities, and a rough budget. It looks polished. It sounds confident. And if you're time-poor, it feels like a shortcut worth taking.

But here's what travel technology insiders are actually saying. Dan Christian, founder of the Travel Trends podcast and a 20-year veteran of digital transformation in travel, was candid in an interview, stating: "AI personalisation focuses on past user data, often missing more subtle factors like a client's aspirations, cultural experiences and under-the-radar destinations.
