Sign up to our newsletter: http://eepurl.com/b6-pGr We offer great GPS maps that will navigate you from Cape Town to Cairo. Our map of Africa reflects where people travel and is packed with detail for the self-drive traveller. It covers many aspects like where to stay, eat, shop and refuel, as well as money matters, emergencies and obviously what to see and do when you visit a place. View our onli

ne map of Africa to see what level of detail we offer on our GPS maps. Our website contains loads of information on the places you see on our maps. If you are looking for campsites or accommodation in Africa, then simply browse our maps or search the website. In addition to our GPS maps we also produce paper maps for selected countries in Africa. To date we have a Namibia map, Botswana map, Zambia map, Mozambique & Malawi map and our South Africa paper map which includes Lesotho and Swaziland. Our Garmin-compatible GPS maps are great for trip planning when used on your PC. You can set up planned routes and calculate how long it would take to reach a destination. Then browse the maps to see where you can sleep, fill up with fuel or buy stuff. We also have an App available on the Google Play store and iTunes Store, namely the T4A Guide App. The Guide App is a reference app with maps that resembles the cartography you find on our paper maps, zoomable and offline. It is combined with all of our guide information. Points of interest show contact details etc, making it easy to get hold of a camp site or lodge near you, or find fuel and places of interest. The Guide App does not provide turn by turn navigation but will show your GPS location on the map as you drive. Think of it as a full set of paper maps and guide books in electronic format, all in your pocket. Our Guid App works offline, i.e. no internet connection required once installed. The app also makes use of the internal GPS of your device to determine your position.

"The trail begins easily enough, but don’t let that fool you. Within minutes, the track narrows and turns into a rugged, off-camber landscape that mirrors the toughest sections of the greater Namakwa Eco Trail," says 4WheelingSA of driving the A-trail on Klein Pella.

Famous as the biggest date farm in the Southern Hemisphere, Klein Pella is also a popular place to overnight before tackling the Namakwa Eco Trail. But stay longer and you'll discover it's a destination in its own right. Read more: https://buff.ly/Ym6GXcv

With its open grassland and tree islands, Passarge Valley in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is a welcoming spot for wildlife – and the overlanders keen to see big game. The environment draws large herds as well as the predators that stalk them.

For outdoor lovers, this is unfiltered wilderness: the campsites are rustic, with no facilities or running water. To protect the pristine nature of the valley, overlanders must stick to the tracks. Travel tends to be slow: roads are sandy in the dry season, muddy in the wet season. But year round the experience is exceptional.

Monday Moment of Chill: Our intrepid colleague Roads to Roam - Africa Awaits loved the Cunene River campsite in Iona National Park. No facilities but scenery and solitude in spades. She says there's a lot more to this park than the dramatic coastline, the sense of wilderness is unforgettable. Is Iona on your travel list yet? 📷 Roads to Roam - Africa Awaits

Think Namaqualand and you probably think flowers, but there's much more to discover. Challenging 4x4 routes. Slackpacking trails along the coast. Captivating quiver trees. Unusual places to eat and unforgettable characters to visit. Our colleague Roads to Roam - Africa Awaits shares tips from her research trip for the new Namaqualand Touring Map: https://buff.ly/OKRVVvD

Monday Moment of Chill: Mapungubwe National Park is known for its rocky landscape, most famously the sandstone outcrop of Mapungubwe Hill, the site of an ancient kingdom. You'll be glad of an offroad vehicle with low range to conquer the climbs on the 4x4 route. Your reward: being alone in a wild place steeped in history. 📷 David Humair
