We are so sad!
About 20 minutes ago, a lion crept up and killed one of the hyena cubs that was suckling on mom at the famous den just south of Afsaal.
These hyenas put up a show almost every day.
But, at the end of the day, we must be neutral. This is the bush, and this is how nature works.

The video is not for the fainthearted, but we will try to share it soon, as soon as it is uploaded.

Elephant cow giving birth while on an Amatungulu Tours safari with guide Simon Taylor Elephants give birth to a single calf, usually head and forelegs first, after a very long gestation period of around 22 months. The birth process is relatively quick, with the calf typically standing and suckling within a few hours. Female elephants give birth while standing, and the calf is usually born head and forelegs first. Newborn calves stand about 1 meter (3 feet) high and weigh around 120 kg (264 lbs).
Post-Birth Care: The mother and other female family members help the newborn calf to its feet and guide it to nurse almost immediately.
