A quick update for our long-distance rail customers 👇
From Monday (1 June), a reduced regional timetable will be in place until further notice, due to union protected industrial action.
What this means for you:
✅ Trains running as normal
- Tilt Trains (between Brisbane and Rockhampton / Bundaberg)
⚠️ Trains with a reduced timetable
🚅 Spirit of Queensland (between Brisbane and Cairns)
- services will be reduced from 4 to 1 full return rail service per week
- 1 return replacement coach service will run each week
🚊Spirit of the Outback (between Brisbane and Longreach)
- services will be reduced from 2 to 1 full return rail service per week
- 1 return replacement coach service will run each week
❌ Train services that have been cancelled
- Westlander (between Brisbane and Charleville)
- Inlander (between Townsville and Mount Isa)
We know many of our customers have important reasons for travel, that's why we are providing replacement coach services wherever possible.
These changes will give you some certainty when booking and travelling in the coming weeks. Fewer services means we can maintain essential safety maintenance and keep our customers and our team safe. This planning also helps us keep essential freight moving for communities all over Queensland.
