This years global theme is Climate Action - so we thought this weeks Fun fact would be focused on our incredible Phytoplankton which work so hard in silence to store carbon in our Oceans 🩵

There’s so much we can do together to reduce our carbon footprint - but here are a few easy ones we can all do from home starting today!

🌊 Swapping your car for a bike ride/walk to work once a week
🌊 Turning off your lights/ air con when not in use
🌊 Reducing our food waste
🌊 Eat local
🌊 Recycle and repair rather than replace

A day in the life of intern Leilani at the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre 🐢🌿

From preparing feeds and cleaning tanks to monitoring turtle health and helping with daily husbandry tasks, every day at the rehab centre plays a part in giving these turtles a second chance 🫶🏼

An unforgettable hands-on experience learning what goes into the rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine turtles on the Fitzroy Island 💙
