Put a few more hours on the new today. This time with the entire fam bam on-board. Initial feedback from them all is that the ride is much smoother and quieter. 👍
The original stats indicated a sweet spot between 3000 and 3500 rpm and I think I found it! 💪 (see first pic).
If I want to cruise a touch quicker at 25KN then 3400rpm is the spot with a fuel burn of 19.6l/hr.
In the second pic you can see the trip summary. We covered plenty of ground. Max speed at WOT today was 46KNs.
I think the figures will improve more as the motor settles in.
Overall, very happy 😊.

New motor stats collected today during break in period. Looks like the sweet spot for economy is between 3000 and 3500 rpm. Standard SS 14.2x18p prop, 200hp on Fusion 19 fibreglass cc. I suspect as the motor is run in more these stats will improve. It felt to me that 3400 rpm was ideal speed, rpm and comfort in today's conditions.

Some great tips for catching bream on hardbodies mentioned below!

Why is pausing your retrieve great for catching bream? 👇

Pausing a hardbody is deadly for bream because it turns a “chasing” situation into an “easy meal” situation

🎯It looks like injured prey: A stop makes the lure seem stunned or dying, which is exactly what bream love picking off.

🎯Bream often follow first, then commit: They’ll trail a hardbody, sizing it up. The pause gives them the moment to actually inhale it.

🎯Many hardbodies will float up slowly or hang/suspend on the pause, which keeps it in the strike zone and triggers a reaction bite.

A simple pattern that works a lot: wind 2–4 turns → pause 1–3 seconds → repeat

Save this for your next jerk minnow 65 or surface bream session!
