Just a quick update from Europe.
I’ve been in Amsterdam this week attending the CLIA River Cruise Conference, which has been incredibly informative. River cruising continues to evolve so quickly, and it’s been wonderful hearing directly from the cruise lines, learning about new ships, itineraries and what’s coming next for clients.
Before the conference I was lucky to join a pre-conference famil with VIVA Cruises, which was a great introduction to their product and onboard style. Afterwards I also had the pleasure of a post-conference famil on AmaSerena, with some excellent excursions and really valuable agent learning sessions along the way. It’s always the behind-the-scenes insights that make the biggest difference when recommending cruises.
I wasn’t the only Aussie there either. It was lovely sharing the experience with fellow MTA advisors Paula Cramsie and the delightful Melissa Horner from Perth. Always nicer when you have a few familiar faces on the journey.
Timing wise it’s been a little interesting. I just managed to arrive in Europe a couple of days before the Middle East situation escalated and flights with Qatar were affected, so at the moment getting home is a little uncertain… but that’s travel for you. We’ll work it out.
For now I’m on the Eurostar heading to Paris for a few days to catch up with friends before the next leg of the trip.
