So I went and spent last Wednesday at Tompkins Park on 17th... Check out 17th Ave BIA for the next one...

Band Karaoke was a hoot and I got to sit across from our old meeting spot for the tours...It was a metaphysical store and you can still feel some of that energy.

And the yellow tape was just to keep people on the pathway... nothing nefarious...which was my first thought ...but that was probably because I was checking out a true crime writer that we may be collaborating with (yes... that's a hint of something we're announcing soon)

I ❀️ the Lougheed Block.

I always think of Penguins when I'm walking by ... We used to visit the restaurant that was here for our pub walks as they had some stories of Staff being terrified of the back area and feeling something or someone was there with them. And all the lights going out all at once ..but coming back on when asked nicely...if staff got mad at the inconvenience ..the lights simply stayed off...🐧 🐧 🐧

Security guards also tell stories about seeing foot prints throughout the building...even when the cleaners had just been through.

I find the entrance in the photo entrancing with the marble and a charm from a bygone era. πŸ‘». So sneak a peek through the window next time you get the chance. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘€

The Plaza started out as a neighbourhood garage before becoming one of Calgary's iconic places to see great films. Rocky Horror Picture Show is always a fan favorite.

I performed on stage here years ago and our sound guy swore someone was talking to him from the bottom of the stairs.... only 1 problem with that... Everyone but him was out in the back alley loading in gear.

Popcorn machines seem to have a mind of their own and chairs would randomly flip down....in groups of 2...and a few other weird things.

Whether you believe or not...It's always a great time to do a little "research" in the cozy renovated bar. πŸ‘»πŸ’œπŸŽ©

Thanks Eidolon Project Canada Paranormal Research and Investigation ... Since I went down the Chinese Hungry Ghost rabbit hole....it seemed fitting to go for a walk around this special neighbourhood

I love this eclectic area with fun shops, great food...And a few whispers of something else still hanging around.

And if you get the chance... check out the cultural center....it's beautiful inside and the symbolism is really spectacular.

Ohoh...this means I have to go back and grab inside pics and maybe lunch...oh no... whatever will I do πŸ˜‰

I ❀️ ❀️ ❀️ ❀️ this space and have been lucky enough to have been invited many times

The Fairmont Palliser was constructed to accommodate the growing number of tourists traveling west using the Canadian Pacific railway (CPR). It originally was eight floors and then another four were added it making it the largest tallest building in Calgary.

Premier RB Bennett actually lived here for a while and Queens & Rockstars have stayed while in town.
It became one of the first businesses in Alberta to receive a liquor license following the end of Prohibition. It was also home to Calgary's first gay nightclub.

There are numerous stories attached to the building but one of my favorites is about a ghost who haunts the 8th floor. It is a concierge floor so you do need to be registered to gain access. The resident spirit is apparently still hungry in the after life and will nibble on any room service trays left unattended.

Having worked in numerous hotels I can so see one of the staff taking a little bit of food off each plate just to give that full guest experience. But hey ...they swear that's not happening. And I've talked to guests who actually booked that floor just to buy him breakfast.

Either way it makes for a fun story.
