I'm excited to be involved in the PaRx Connectors which is launching today: a new national initiative designed to help patients follow through on nature prescriptions by connecting them with trained, trusted practitioners—including forest therapy guides—across Canada.

Since Canada’s national nature prescription program led by BC Parks Foundation, PaRx, launched in 2020, more than 20,000 licensed healthcare providers have collectively improved the health of an estimated 1.5 million Canadians who have received prescriptions for time in nature.

Now, the PaRx Connectors program pairs prescriptions with trained practitioners who can guide, support, and help people build confidence and
consistency in spending time outdoors.

PaRx Connectors registration is hope to trained forest therapy guides who are a member of Nature and Forest Therapy of Canada, interested supporting patients as they put nature prescriptions into practice.

Practitioners will receive:

📝 A PaRx Connector toolkit, including a welcome guide, shareable materials on the health benefits of nature, and a code of conduct
🥇 The ability to identify themselves as as PaRx Connector, including a digital badge for SM, websites and email signatures

We’re breaking ground as Canada’s first national, evidence-based nature prescription program. Nature prescriptions were named one of the top 8 global wellness trends in 2019.

You never know who you will meet on the trail. Today I was talking about movies made in the Rockies and referred to The Edge, which was filmed out here in the 1990’s. One of the men on my tour piped up and said he was the vet for BART the bear. 😂
