As we celebrate Indigenous History Month, join us for an inspiring evening of storytelling, culture, and connection at the Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre.

🌿 Stories from the Land: An Author Reading with Wahwahbiginojii (Dr. David Anderson) 🌿

Wahwahbiginojii will share readings from one of his books and bring traditional stories to life, offering an opportunity to listen, learn, and reflect through the power of Indigenous storytelling.

🦉 Bird Friday by Wyatt!! 🦅

This week’s feathered friend is the Ovenbird! 🐦 Larger and chunkier than the average warbler, this little bird is often spotted with its tail cocked upward and its bright white eye ring gives it a permanently surprised expression! 👀

Unlike many birds that nest in trees, Ovenbirds build their homes right on the forest floor. Using dead leaves, grasses, bark, stems, and hair, they carefully weave a domed nest with a hidden side entrance. Its rounded shape resembles a small clay oven — inspiring the name “Ovenbird”! 🍂🪺
