Visiting an oyster farm was not on my bingo card but I am so glad I went! I had no idea how long the process took and how manual and tedious it was. We visited a small (7 employees) family operated oyster farm in Marennes. The tradition and technique handed down from generations was truly special to witness.

“Île d’Yeu — a tiny French island the tour buses cannot reach, because there are no tour buses. Whitewashed cottages, wild Atlantic cliffs, a little train, and lunch by a harbor the size of a swimming pool. The smile on my face at the end says it all.
