Two of England's best-known landmarks and a flight home, all in one day. No pressure. 🏰

Last week we collected two guests in Bath and headed east. First stop was Stonehenge, with an hour and a half or so to walk round the stones. Then on to Windsor Castle for a good two and a half hours inside, before finishing at a Heathrow airport hotel, ready for the flight. ✈️

It's a lovely way to do an airport run. Rather than two hours of staring at the M4, you tick off a couple of bucket-list sights on the way, and we keep an eye on the clock so you don't have to.

It's been a busy few months, too: September brought over 430 bookings, the most we've ever had in a month. 📈 Thank you to everyone who travelled with us.

⛄ Bath is getting a very famous winter visitor this month...

The World of The Snowman is coming to the Victoria Art Gallery on Bridge Street, from 20 November to 28 February. You'll see Raymond Briggs' original book illustrations, set-ups from the animated film and artwork from The Snowman and the Snowdog. There's a hands-on family area too, complete with a recreation of that famous red plane. ✈️

Hard to believe the book first came out in 1978, with the film following four years later. Free guided tours run on Thursday afternoons with your ticket, and under-6s go free. ❄️

Coming in with the family from Frome or Keynsham? Leave the car at home and we'll drop you in town. 🚗

From Birmingham Airport to the Welsh border in one run 🚗

This week we collected from Birmingham Airport and dropped off in Chepstow, and the castle was too good not to photograph. 🏰 It sits above the River Wye, just over the border into Wales.

Birmingham isn't one of our everyday airports, but it's no problem at all. We monitor flights at every airport, so if a landing runs late, so do we.

Autumn sun season is well under way in the bookings diary ☀️

This week we've confirmed a 5:15am pickup in Bath for a Bristol Airport flight to Malta, and a late return from Madeira that touches down just before 11pm. Neither is a time anyone wants to spend wrestling with an airport car park.

For the early ones, our dedicated night drivers are on duty, so nobody gets dragged out of bed at 3am to get you there. For the late ones, we monitor every flight, so if Madeira's running behind, so are we. 🛬

Bristol works a little differently from the bigger airports: your driver's name and number come through the day before, you give them a ring once you've landed, and you meet at the pick-up/drop-off car park. No loitering in arrivals.

One clean car and a driver who knows when to chat and when to let you nod off. 🚗

🚂 Remember when you could catch a steam train from Green Park?

Bath's "other" station was originally called Queen Square, and it was the gateway to the Somerset & Dorset line. The famous Pines Express ran from Manchester to Bournemouth over the S&D, packed with holidaymakers, until its last run on that route in September 1962.

The station closed in 1966 and sat empty for years until it was restored in the early 1980s. Today that Grade II listed train shed shelters market stalls, events and the Saturday farmers' market instead of platforms. 🧺

We spend our days taking people to stations and airports, so we've a real soft spot for this one.

Lower Slaughter is the stop where clients go quiet and just start taking photos. 📸 The old mill, the River Eye, and not another soul in sight if you time it right. About 25 minutes is usually perfect here, enough for a stroll along the water without rushing the rest of the day. (And no, the name isn't as grim as it sounds. It comes from an old word for a wet, muddy place.)
Full-day Cotswolds tours start at £350 for the car.
