Usually, they’re not the ones where you try to do everything as cheaply as possible.

They’re the trips where the important parts are done properly.

The right hotel
The right location
Good flight times
And experiences you’ll actually remember afterwards

That’s what makes the difference.

Sometimes spending a little more on the parts that matter most changes the whole feel of a holiday.

A room with a view you genuinely enjoy

Why people love waking up somewhere new on a cruise

I think this is the part people end up loving most.

You go to sleep… and the next morning you’re somewhere completely different.

A new view
A new port
A new place to explore

But without having to repack, move hotels or sort out travel in between.

It’s such an easy way to see multiple places without the trip feeling exhausting.

One day you’re wandering around a city or sitting by the sea… the next morning you wake up somewhere new and do it all again.

That’s why so many people try cruising once and then get completely hooked on it.

The moment a holiday starts feeling exciting

For me, it’s usually when it starts feeling real.

The flights are booked
The countdown begins
And you start properly picturing yourself there instead of just talking about it

That’s the point where the excitement really kicks in.

Looking at restaurants
Planning days out
Thinking about what the hotel’s actually going to feel like when you arrive

I think that build-up is part of the holiday too.

Especially for bigger trips — cruises, safaris, Canada, long-haul adventures — the anticipation becomes part of the experience long before you even leave home.

The best view I’ve ever experienced that stayed with me has to be Niagara Falls from a helicopter.

You think you know what to expect, but seeing it from above gives you a completely different perspective. The scale of it is just incredible.

Another that stands out is arriving at the river camp in Khao Sok National Park in Thailand by longtail boat. The scenery was stunning and there was something about approaching the camp across the water that made it feel even more special.

I think the views that stay with you aren’t always just about what you’re looking at. They’re about the whole experience. How you got there, who you shared it with, and how you felt in that moment.

Although if you ask me again next week, I’ll probably have a different answer!

Why Canada trips feel so special

There’s just something about Canada that stays with people.

The scenery is incredible, but it’s more than that.

The lakes
The mountains
The wildlife
The huge open spaces

It feels calm in a way that’s hard to explain until you’re there.

And what makes Canada trips work so well is combining different experiences properly.

A city stay
A train journey
The Rockies
Maybe even adding on an Alaska cruise

That mix is usually what people fall in love with.

It’s the kind of trip that feels like a real adventure, while still being easy to travel around.

And it’s definitely one of the destinations people come back talking about most.

Usually, it’s the little things.

Service that makes everything feel easy
Or one experience you end up talking about long after you get home

Those are the things people remember most.

Not necessarily the busiest itinerary or the most expensive trip… just the holidays where everything comes together properly.

Adding one extra experience… or one extra stop.

It doesn’t have to make the trip complicated.

Sometimes it’s:
A couple of nights in a city before the beach
A safari added onto a longer holiday
Or just one experience you’ll still be talking about afterwards

That’s usually what changes a trip from “nice” to memorable.

It gives you a mix of experiences, breaks the holiday up properly, and makes it feel like more than just one place for a week.

Those are often the trips people come home most excited about.

What I’m seeing people book the most right now

Cruise is definitely top of the list at the moment.

Mainly Mediterranean and Caribbean routes — people love the idea of seeing different places without constantly moving around.

Greece is also still incredibly popular for sunshine holidays. It’s one of those destinations that just works for so many people.

And I’m seeing more enquiries for bigger trips too, especially Canada multi-centres and USA family holidays being planned well ahead.

A real mix of:
Easy sunshine breaks
Cruises
And more experience-led trips

People are definitely thinking more carefully about how they want a trip to feel now, not just where they want to go.
