Who here loves medieval history?

Get ready for the arrival of Sir Hamo de Inglewood, newly restored knight and clerk of the kitchen, as he arrives in Carlisle from the year 1203.

He is the ancestor to Myles Mason of Tudor Chester and Johnny Eccleston of Georgian Lancaster, ready to delve into stories of feasts, sieges and sneaky border reivers for the Norman & Medieval Tour of Carlisle in Easter 2027.

Accompanied by a costumed guide and his historical replicas, this tour aims uses character roleplay to create an immersive experience that transports you back to Carlisle's medieval past.

What's on in Chester and Lancaster over the next two weeks?

Well, there are the usual weekly 1:30pm Tudor & Stuart Tours of Chester with Myles Mason and 6pm Filthy Chester Tours every Friday from outside Chester's Visitor Information Centre (where tickets can be booked).

Johnny Eccleston will be returning for the Georgian & Regency Tour of Lancaster this Saturday 5th September at 11am & 1pm, leaving from Market Square (tickets can be booked via our website www.livehistory.co.uk).

Between 4pm and 6pm on Monday 7th September, people will be bringing fully-charged phones and earplugs to the junction of Grosvenor Park Road and Union Street to walk a Chester War Tour, free of charge by expressing your interest here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1610080307345110.

Speaking of freebies, there will be free Time Travel Tours in Chester as part of the Heritage Open Days.

Did you know that Live History does events in Chester? On Monday 7th September (4pm-6pm), we will be gathering at the junction of Grosvenor Park Road and Union Street to undertake the Chester War Tour...for free! On Friday 6th November, we will be hosting Creepy Chester, an afternoon of dark, spooky local talks accompanied with historic snacks and beverages inside a sixteenth century townhouse (tickets can be purchased at Chester's Visitor information Centre). On Thursday 19th November, our annual Victorian flashmob will leave Chester High Cross on a leaflet run around 6pm before traditional carol singing ensues in anticipation of our Dickensian Grotto at the Grosvenor Museum on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November - ideal for SEN children.
