Live History is hosting their first Halloween event at Bishop Lloyd's Palace on Friday 6th November at 4pm-6pm.

Public Tudor & Stuart Tours of Chester may have come to an end until 2027 but have you heard the whole story?

Like the fact that Randal Mergen got in trouble for trying to run a brothel inside his Chester alehouse in the mid sixteenth century?

Next month, Live History will be trialling an updated Filthy Chester Tour for the off-peak season, between November and February.

In addition to the usual filthy, taboo stories from Chester's past, it will be thirty minutes longer and will feature two new locations.

We have been working with a local business to allow customers the opportunity to venture inside the final location to see a former brothel, back in the eighteenth century.

The updated tour will not only be longer at ninety minutes but will feature some spookier elements to compliment what are Live History's filthy AND spooky tours.

'Filthy Chester Tours with Spirits' will be running monthly but there will also be the option to book privately.

It's the last Tudor & Stuart Tour of Chester of the year this Friday 23rd October.

Find Myles Mason outside the Visitor Information Centre (where tickets can be purchased) at 1:30pm for the chance to explore early modern Chester.

Featuring a costumed guide and historical replicas, you may even get the chance to visit inside a historic building.

As for the Filthy Chester Tour, Time Travel Tom will join you in the same place at 6pm, for an exploration of Chester's filthy streets and its filthier residents.

The Filthy Chester Tour though will be getting an upgrade over the winter, operating on a monthly basis to include an additional thirty minutes plus a look inside a special historic building in Chester.

It's the second to last week of public tours for the year from us today.

Tudor & Stuart Tour of Chester (90 mins) at 1:30pm and the Filthy Chester Tour (60 mins) at 6pm, both leaving from outside the Visitor Information Centre today (where tickets can be purchased).
