5 things I tell my clients before booking Disneyland Paris with a toddler
I've just spent four days at Disneyland Paris with my toddler, and whilst I work in travel, this trip reminded me that sometimes you don't really know what works for a family until you've experienced it yourself.
1. Stay on site if your budget allows
We stayed at Sequoia Lodge and being able to walk back to the hotel when Harry (and us!) needed a nap was invaluable.
It's around a 15-minute, pram-friendly walk to the parks, which made a huge difference in the August heat.
2. Don't underestimate the heat
We were there during a heatwave and it was HOT.
We used shaded queues, meal times and an afternoon break to escape the heat. I even saw people sleeping on benches in the shade, saving their energy for the fireworks!
With a toddler, build rest time into your plan.
3. You don't need to plan every minute
Our first day was basically unplanned chaos, yet we somehow ended up in exactly the right place for the parade and fireworks!
By day three we'd worked out which rides to prioritise and where we could be flexible.
I can help you build a plan that works for your family.
4. The app is your best friend
Add it to your home screen a few days before you go!
Tickets, room information, maps, ride wait times and character meet information are all there. We used it constantly.
5. Budget for the Disney spending!
Coming from someone who is VERY frugal in theme parks...
Disney magic gets you.
Suddenly the €10 cider feels reasonable, the €36 T-shirt is going in the bag and a €40 toy is apparently essential!
Buy T-shirts and ears before you go if you can. Etsy, Primark, ASDA... whatever works. You'll save money and still feel part of the magic.
We booked 3 nights at Sequoia Lodge with half board, 4 park days, PhotoPass and hotel + tickets for just under £1,600 in peak summer.
And yes, I booked it myself through Travel Counsellors, for the same price as booking direct with Disney.

After 2 years planning, 2 months of stressing and now 2 weeks of roadtripping.. tomorrow is finally the day I move to Portugal for 2 years!
We have had an amazing adventure on this trip, ferry Newhaven to Dieppe, driving and stopping in Evreux for an epic wedding, Disneyland (!!) Limoges, Bordeaux, San Sebastian and currently sat in Plaza Mayor, Salamanca!

But tomorrow the 'real life' starts.
Picking up the keys to our new place in Carcavelos, doing a big food shop and going furniture shopping!

Monday is back to normal work wise. I have worked fully remote for over 5 years now, which means there is absolutely no change to my usual working life.

Hence the move! Everyone one has asked 'why the move...?'
but its more of a 'Why not..?' situation. We work remotely and our son is not in school yet. What was stopping us!

Story time - Easter Offer in Croatia: family island-hopping adventure 🇭🇷✨

If you have had enough of the UK “too hot to handle” weather and fancy swapping your garden paddling pool for the Adriatic, this one is for you.

Instead of trying to keep the kids entertained next Easter, you are landing in Croatia with everything already taken care of: flights, private transfers, ferries, hotels, the lot. No stressful logistics, no worrying about tickets or timings.
