One more surprise before leaving Vietnam🍸✨
On our last night, whilst walking back from dinner and reminiscing about our trip, and I were debating the best cocktails we’d had across Vietnam. I was saying how I’d seen videos about secret cocktail bars hidden all over the country and how I wished we had time to find one… when James pointed out a little chocolate shop we’d walked past several times before.
Curious, we stepped inside… and hidden behind the chocolate shop was a secret cocktail bar 🍫🍸🍹

We could not believe the coincidence! What an unexpected suprise!

No menu, no standard drinks list. Instead, the bartenders created completely bespoke cocktails based on your personal tastes and preferences. Every drink was unique, creative and absolutely delicious.😋 cocktail

It actually reminded me a lot of how I plan holidays for my clients, tailor made, personal and completely different for every person!🤍

Sometimes the best travel moments are the ones you never planned. 💎

✨There’s nothing better than hearing that my clients have come home with amazing memories ✨

This lovely family have recently returned from an unforgettable 2 week family adventure in Thailand, travelling with their two teenage boys and they all had an absolutely fantastic time!
Their trip included the riverside luxury of Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, relaxing beach time at Eden Beach Khao Lak Resort & Spa, and finishing off in beautiful Krabi at Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa Krabi

One of the things I loved most about planning this holiday was making sure there was something for everyone. Alongside the hotels, flights and transfers, I organised a private 'Floating and Railway Market tour in Bangkok', plus a 'Full day elephant experience from Khao Lak'!

I also gave them plenty of personal recommendations and honest advice for extra tours and activities they might enjoy, whilst still leaving them the freedom to decide what they felt like doing once they were there! I think that balance is so important, especially when travelling with teenagers!

I’m so grateful for the lovely review they left me. Knowing I’ve helped create special family memories is honestly one of the best parts of my job 💙

Vietnam adventure part 9 🇻🇳

Call it Saigon, call it Ho Chi Minh City… there is SO much to see here, I had to resort to collages just to fit it all into one post!

From cocktails at rooftop bars enjoying the sunset, to the vivid and often heartbreaking truths of Vietnam’s turbulent past at the War Remnants Museum!
We hit our step count walking from the Ho Chi Minh Statue past grand French colonial buildings, hidden cafés, buzzing markets and tiny plastic-stool street food spots serving some of the best meals we ate in Vietnam.
We wandered around the quirky The Café Apartments, watched the city light up at night from a night bus tour, and soaked up the atmosphere everywhere we went.🌃

There were also some peaceful moments drifting through the canals of the Mekong Delta! But then there was also crawling through the claustrophobic Cu Chi Tunnels (James, not me!) and witnessing the chaos that is Bui Vien Street, and drinking enough iced coffee to power a small country.🧋

One of the absolute highlights of our entire trip was spending one evening zipping through the chaotic streets of on the back of scooters with local guides, stopping at hidden local spots we never would’ve found ourselves.🛵
Every stop brought something completely different. We even tried “jumping chicken” (I’ll let you guess what that is… 😉) plus a whole range of weird and wonderful taste experiences that pushed us way out of our comfort zone in the best possible way.

Busy, noisy, vibrant and full of character, Saigon is a city that really gets under your skin. Chaotic, energetic, emotional and fascinating all at once… the kind of place that exhausts you and makes you want more at the same time. 🇻🇳✨

Vietnam Adventure part 8 🇻🇳

Huge, random and just a little bit bizarre… I really didn’t know what to expect from Bà Nà Hills, but it definitely wasn’t this...
I wanted to see the Golden Bridge (those giant stone hands!) and the cable cars I've seen all over Instagram… but what we found was a full-on theme park sitting high in the mountains. 😲

🚡 The cable cars
One of the longest and highest in the world and easily a highlight. The views over jungle, waterfalls and mist are incredible (if you’re brave enough to look down 👀).

But what’s up there?
A French-inspired mountain resort turned entertainment complex/theme park, all perched high above Da Nang.
• The famous Golden Bridge (very busy!)
• Exceptionally well-kept gardens 🌸
• Temples and scenic viewpoints 🏯
• A surprisingly fun toboggan ride 🎢
• A slightly odd but entertaining 4D cinema experience
• A real brewery with an Oktoberfest-style food hall 🍺🥨

👨‍👩‍👧 Who it’s for
Families, groups, and anyone who doesn’t mind a slightly surreal, all-over-the-place kind of day out.
Some areas were packed with people queueing for tje perfect Instagram pics, while other spaces felt almost empty.

There’s also a lot of construction happening including a new casino.
It’s a strange one… I’m really glad I’ve seen it, and there were moments I genuinely enjoyed, but I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to recommend it.

Definitely one you have to experience to make your own mind up!

Vietnam Adventure - part 7 🇻🇳

Hoi An was one of my favourite stops on our adventure so far! Not a big city, still very busy with tourists and locals alike, but incredibly charming.✨

People fall in love with Hoi An for so many reasons, the glowing lantern-lined streets, beautiful yellow colonial buildings, riverside cafés, colourful markets, amazing local food, talented tailors, nearby beaches, and the mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and French influences throughout the town. It somehow feels both lively and relaxed at the same time, especially in the evenings when the lanterns light up the old town and the river comes alive with boats and music.🏮

The choice of different restaurants, street food vendors and cafés is incredible! And it's shopping heaven! I truly wish we had had more time (and space in our suitcases!)

Vietnam Adventure - part 6 🇻🇳

Our drive from Hue to Hoi An doubled up as a sightseeing tour, with scenic viewpoint stops along the way and, of course, the obligatory Vietnamese iced coffees 🧋

Our main stop was the fascinating Marble Mountains in Da Nang — a cluster of five limestone and marble hills, each named after one of the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Hidden within the mountains are caves, tunnels, Buddhist sanctuaries and beautiful pagodas, some of which were used as secret hospitals and hiding places during the Vietnam War. The mountains have long been considered a spiritual site, attracting pilgrims for centuries, and the panoramic views from the top are well worth the climb!
We also explored some of the ornate pagodas tucked into the mountainside, filled with incense, giant Buddha statues and intricate carvings, creating such a peaceful contrast to the busy roads below.

On the way, we stopped at the Wide Eyed Tours head office and got to meet the lovely team who take such great care of both us and my clients while touring Vietnam. It’s always reassuring to meet the people behind the scenes who make these trips run so smoothly.

Driving through Da Nang, we passed its huge stretch of beach, lined with modern hotels and high-rises, but we were headed for somewhere with a completely different feel — the smaller, more traditional and lantern-filled charm of Hoi An...🏮
