SOUTHERN AFRICA: WE'VE MADE IT TO CAPE TOWN! 🇿🇦🏍️

After 41 days on the road, our Southern Africa Expedition has officially reached Cape Town, bringing another incredible African adventure to a close!

Starting in Nairobi, Kenya, the group have travelled south through Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia before crossing into South Africa for the final stretch to Cape Town.

From incredible wildlife encounters and vast African landscapes to remote roads, scorching temperatures and some unforgettable riding, it's certainly been an adventure!

A huge congratulations to all our riders who have completed this epic journey, and a big thank you to our GlobeBusters team for making it all happen! 👏

BUT THE ADVENTURE DOESN'T STOP THERE! 🏍️

For our Southern Africa riders, there's still more riding to come!

They're staying on in Cape Town to join our South Africa Garden Route Motorcycle Tour, with a few fresh faces flying in to join the adventure.

Led by GlobeBusters founders Kevin and Julia Sanders, the group will be heading out to explore some of South Africa's finest coastal roads, mountain passes and spectacular scenery.

SOUTHERN AFRICA: NAMIBIA 🇳🇦

Namibia has been another incredible chapter of our Southern Africa Expedition! 🏍️

From two nights in Etosha National Park, watching wildlife gather around the waterholes, to the rugged Skeleton Coast with its shipwrecks and seal colonies, before reaching the coastal town of Swakopmund.

The adventure continued south through the Namib Desert, taking in the famous red sand dunes of Sossusvlei, followed by the spectacular Fish River Canyon.

And of course, plenty of gravel roads, vast open landscapes and miles of riding in between!

With Namibia now behind them, the group have crossed the Orange River into South Africa 🇿🇦 for the final leg of their journey towards Cape Town!

SOUTHERN AFRICA: INTO THE DESERTS! 🌍🏍️

The Southern Africa team has been clocking up the miles, crossing borders and experiencing some of Africa's most spectacular landscapes!

Since our last update in Tanzania, the riders have travelled through Malawi, Zambia and Botswana, and are now making their way through the vast landscapes of Namibia! 🇲🇼🇿🇲🇧🇼🇳🇦

First stop, Malawi! 🇲🇼

After crossing the border from Tanzania, the team headed south along the shores of Lake Malawi, one of Africa's Great Lakes and the third-largest lake in Africa.

With its tropical shores, fishing villages and beautiful lakeside scenery, it's quite a contrast to the African highlands they'd left behind.

The route took the riders through Karonga, Chintheche and Senga Bay, with a well-earned rest day beside the lake. Not a bad place to park the bikes for a day! 🌴

Next up, Zambia and the mighty Victoria Falls! 🇿🇲

Leaving Malawi behind, the team crossed into Zambia and continued through Chipata and Lusaka before reaching Livingstone, home to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or "The Smoke That Thunders", is one of the largest waterfalls in the world.

With two days off the bikes, there was plenty of opportunity to explore the falls, take in the views and perhaps enjoy some of the activities on offer. One of the riders even chose to do a bungy jump!

A quick visit to Botswana! 🇧🇼

From Livingstone, they head to the famous Chobe National Park.

The Chobe River is renowned for its wildlife, particularly its enormous elephant population. A completely different experience from the open roads and landscapes of Zambia.

But the journey wasn't stopping there...

And now, Namibia! 🇳🇦

Another border crossed and country number five underway!

The team entered Namibia through the Zambezi Region, with a completely different landscape waiting as they continued west.

And that's where we'll leave them for now...

More from Namibia coming soon, with some incredible desert landscapes and plenty of gravel roads ahead! 🏍️

SOUTHERN AFRICA: INTO TANZANIA 🇹🇿
The Southern Africa team has crossed the border and country number two is underway!

After leaving Kenya behind, the route into Tanzania took the riders through the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, past the coffee-growing areas around Arusha and onwards to Karatu.
And when you’re this close to one of Africa’s greatest wildlife areas, it would be rude not to stop...

Bikes parked. Safari vehicles out. 🐘🦁
The team headed down into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, swapping two wheels for four for the day and keeping their eyes peeled for the Big Five.

Then it was back on the bikes and back to the journey south.
From Karatu, the route crossed the Lake Manyara plateau before continuing towards Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital, with the African landscapes changing mile by mile.

They’re now getting properly into Tanzania, with over 1,000 miles of the expedition already behind them and plenty more still to come.
Next up, the road continues south through the Tanzanian highlands towards Mbeya and the Malawi border. Then the expedition reaches the shores of Lake Malawi. 🌍🏍️

Nairobi to Cape Town is a very long way...
But they’re getting there one country, one border and one adventure at a time.

A full selection of photos from the Bangkok to Britain Expedition Finish Line Event at Beaulieu, National Motor Museum

What a celebration it was. A fantastic crowd turned out to welcome the riders home in the beaming sunshine, with group and individual photos, emotional reunions with loved ones after more than three months on the road, and an evening dining together inside the Beaulieu Motor Museum itself.

Without doubt, it was one of the best expedition finish line events we've ever had.

Congratulations to every rider who completed this truly epic overland journey.

And thank you to everyone who came along to cheer them across the finish line.

A truly memorable day and one we'll never forget.
