Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has successfully passed its latest IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), retaining its international operational safety registration through September 2028.

And this is no small achievement.

🌍 PIA has once again met internationally recognised aviation safety benchmarks.

The assessment examined critical areas including:

🛬 Ground handling
🔐 Operational security
🛡️ Safety management and procedures

The airline successfully cleared the risk-based evaluation.

✈️🇵🇰 PIA is preparing for a major comeback — and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner could be at the heart of it.

Pakistan International Airlines is pushing for the faster delivery of 16 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with the airline seeking to bring the first five aircraft as early as the first half of 2027.

Why does this matter?

Because this isn’t simply about adding new aircraft to a fleet. It is about giving PIA the capacity to rebuild its international network, return to important long-haul markets and compete on a completely different level.

The bigger ambition is even more striking: PIA’s privatized management reportedly plans to grow the airline from around 19 aircraft today to as many as 64 aircraft over the next eight years.

And the Dreamliner could become the symbol of that transformation.

The Boeing 787 is designed for long-haul operations, offering the range and efficiency needed for routes connecting Pakistan with major destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East and beyond.
