Fish N Chips tour last night around the Surrey Hills. Our night time 4x4 tour around the byways and backroads of the Surrey Hills with food!

Starting from our training site, our Tim guided the group through the woodlands and stunning views up to Devils Punchbowl and beyond stopping on route for supper before continuing into the dark.

To misquote the Beatles, it was 82 years ago today… Similar grim weather on 6th June 1944 too. The world had changed, and I hope none of us forget how much it cost to put things ‘right’ again.

Some of you may know we’ve been running tours to the D-Day beaches this spring and it has been one of the most amazing things Maggie and I have done.

We’re going again in early October and I’m thinking about organising a trip for the 83rd anniversary next June.

On this day 82 years ago the allied forces began the liberation of Europe on D-Day.
Today in ceremonies across Normandy we remember the sacrifice made by so many to protect freedom.
The battle for the Maisy Battery happened on the 9th of June, and if you are in Normandy, please feel free to attend our ceremony at 11am at our US Rangers monument.

Land Rover Monthly magazine test day at Newbury today. We were invited to come along and give the new off road course a shakedown.

It’s a great course and in the wet has some challenging sections. Tim, Rohan, Malcolm and Gareth all took their 4x4’s along to double check that a wide variety of vehicles can tackle the course, from Freelander to Grenadier all did well.

We’re exhibiting at the show and there will be some special offers available to those who come along and say hi. 11th & 12th July Newbury Showgrounds. Book in advance and save a few pounds.

Our second D-Day tour this spring was another wonderful trip following in the footsteps of the heroes who landed in Normandy, exactly 82 years ago this week.

This is a journey on mostly farm tracks suitable for most vehicles (shout out to the red Mitsubishi Phev in all its electric glory!).

There were some more challenging routes on the second day as we worked West, starting from the renowned Pegasus Bridge and visiting many significant sites including Gold Beach at Arromanche to look at the Mulberry Harbour, and a visit to Omaha Beach and the moving American cemetery at Saint Laurent sur Mer.

The team really bonded over the weekend and we enjoyed a fantastic meal together on the seafront on the last day. Another big shout out to the blue Jeep, the owners of which were going to Sweden to get married two days after our tour finished. What an honour they chose to spend their last weekend with us!

Keep an eye out for more dates – these tours are incredibly well received and we will be doing more of them, just as soon as Stuart can read and memorise yet more D-Day history books!

Drive in the woods experience for Holly and friend. Using our trusty Disco 2 “Herge” our Rohan gave some@basic tuition before the pair headed off around our off road site. A little competition element was added with the ladies having to navigate through a tight course.

Enthusiast 4x4 Off Road Training and Tour today for father and sons with their new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, trail rated spec.

An extremely capable off road vehicle, Paul and his sons joined us for a morning of training (theory and practical), before heading out into the Surrey Hills for a private lane tour.

Great to see clients learn how their vehicles work and just what they are capable of. New skills learnt and a bit of driving practice for the boys.

Natasha and Alice joined us this morning for a quick “Taster” session using our Disco 2 “Herge”. Off to Africa in the morning they wanted to get a brief introduction to 4x4’s off road before they left.

A few hours at our training site learning the basics and building confidence.

A bimble around the Surrey Hills today for our “Birthday Tour”. Very hot out there and as a result very few other lane users. Meeting at the woods before heading out on the byways and back roads.
Ending at a local pub for a refreshing shandy.
