We took to the waves and the ramps with XTRATUF at this year’s UK Surf & Skate Expo – the home of UK surf and skate culture in Newquay, Cornwall.
Built for outdoor adventurers, the XTRATUF experience leaned into natural fibres, shipyard aesthetics and nautical details to create an authentically rugged space that can evolve across multiple seasons.
Timber, weathered corrugated flats and their signature wheelhouse prop brought the outdoors in, while the modular approach kept the build cost-effective and sustainable. Every element can be scaled, reconfigured or re-skinned to suit whatever expo, festival or trade show XTRATUF adventures to next.
Alongside the modular retail space for showcasing and storing products – including recent collaborations with Finisterre , we also designed the new XTRATUF Tales from the Frontier sponsor stage, carrying the same rugged aesthetic into a space for storytelling and conversation.
The stage brought together the XTRATUF family to share stories of adventure, exploration and life on the frontier, including:
🎥 Sam Sherring and Andrew Cotton on strike missions and capturing epic waves at Nazaré
🛹 Becky Gilmour sharing her epic skating adventures
🌊 Lee Wood of Lost Shore Surf Resort on building and running Europe’s largest wave pool
🤙 TOM COURT - Free Ride Athlete & Creator on the pursuit of gnarly wind and epic waves
🛟 Lewis Timson of RNLI celebrating 25 years of the lifeguard service
🏄🏻 Louis of Tynemouth Surf Co on surfing in the North East
💨 Daniel Macaulay and Windsurfer Magazine celebrating all things windsurf
A build designed to feel at home in the world of surf, skate and the great outdoors and ready for wherever XTRATUF heads next.
