The Inverness Castle Experience will create a must-see visitor attraction, opening in 2025 in Inverness. Celebrating the 'spirit of the Highlands' through its stories past, present and future, it will inspire people to visit all parts of the Highlands. Inverness Castle is being transformed to become a gateway for Highland tourism, supporting economic growth throughout the Highland area and extendi
ng the benefits beyond the castle walls. It aims to raise awareness of the Highlands internationally, extend visitor stay and increase visitor spending in the area, whilst also providing an opportunity to link historic, cultural and natural attractions across the Highlands to everyone’s benefit. The Inverness Castle project, opening in 2025, will benefit from £30m investment to support its re-development from the Scottish and UK Governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and a range of other partners. The Inverness Castle project is part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, which is a joint initiative supported by up to £315m investment from the UK and Scottish governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.
