The Scarborough Hospitality Association (SHA) is a dynamic partnership of tourism organisations and businesses, working together to showcase the unique, and stunning qualities of Scarborough and the surrounding Yorkshire area.

SHA is a business network of tourist businesses, working together with local authorities, conservation bodies, economic development groups and other partners to make Scarborough an outstanding visitor destination.

Founded over 90 years ago, SHA continues to go from strength to strength. They are a self-funded association, set up to represent and promote the interests of local tourism. It is directed through an Executive Committee, many of whom are closely involved in the tourism business, or marketing.

Membership is open to any individual, business or organisation that provides tourism related services or goods and has a keen interest in the development of tourism in the area.

Copt Hewick is a small village which lies about two miles east of the City of Ripon.

The name of the village derives from the Old English "Coppede hΔ“ah wΔ«c", which means "high specialised farm" in modern money.
The Copt element refers to the hill that the village stands on.
The Church of the Holy Innocents is part of the parish of Sharow with Copt Hewick and Marton-le-Moor, and is a Grade II listed building.

Anglican worship in Copt Hewick began in the mid-19th century, in a schoolroom! In 1876, a church was constructed, to a design by W. Lewis and Robert Hargreave Brodrick. It was consecrated by the Bishop of Ripon on 2 August.

In 1887, it was dedicated to the Holy Innocents, and that year, the nave was extended, a vestry added, and the roof was replaced. In 1960, new altar rails and a reading desk were installed, and the following year, stained glass was placed in the windows. The church was Grade II listed in 1986.

The church is built of polychromatic brick, with a roof in purple slate with grey bands. Polychromatic brick is a style of architectural brickwork in which bricks of different colours are used to create decorative patterns or highlight architectural features in the walls of a building.

The building consists of a nave with a south porch, an apsidal chancel with a conical roof, and a north vestry. On the roof is a wooden lantern with a short spire. The west window has two lights, and the other windows are lancets. The porch has a blue brick archway with a wooden head pierced by small quatrefoils. Inside, there are many polychromatic tiles, and there is a chancel screen which can slide into the side walls.

It is a bright and welcoming space and it stands next to the village hall with it’s impressive clock tower.

Coxwold is a beautiful village in the old Hambleton district of North Yorkshire. The village is located within the North York Moors National Park.The village name is derived from Saxon words Cuc, meaning "cry" and valt, meaning "wood".

The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as part of the Yalestre hundred by the name of Cucvalt. The lord of the manor at the time of the Norman invasion was Kofse, but passed to Hugh, son of Baldric (not the one with a cunning plan, most likely) and thence to Roger de Mowbray.

Before 1158, the manor and lands of Coxwold passed to Thomas Colville. In return for the lands, Thomas had to swear allegiance to Roger de Mowbray. Thomas de Colville's estate included the manors of Yearsley, Coxwold and Oulston as well as other properties and land in York, Thirsk, Everley, Nunwick, Kilburn and Upsland.

The Colville shield is evident at one of the roof intersections in the village's twelfth century Norman church, St. Michaels.

Shandy Hall, in Coxwold, was the one-time home of Laurence Sterne who wrote "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman."

The area is excellent for dog walking, with the famous Kilburn White Horse and Sutton Bank nearby, as well as the excellent Yearsley Woods, which is very popular with dog walkers as well as mountain bikers and horse riders too.
