On 18 & 19 April, the beautiful Harlaxton Manor will be opening its doors to visitors.

As this architectural gem is usually closed to the public, this is a unique opportunity to take a look inside, and learn more about the building's fascinating history.

Built in the 1830s, Harlaxton Manor has seen many varied uses - from a fine stately home to a trench warfare and artillery school, a retreat for the Society of Jesus, and finally, as an overseas campus for the American University of Evansville.

This event takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend, so the Manor will also be hosting some special activities for children - keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny!

In honour of International Women's Day, we're commemorating Lincoln legend Nichola de la Haye.

Often referred to as “the woman who saved England”, Nichola de la Haye was a fearless force. As the Constable of Lincoln Castle, she played a crucial role in securing victory at the Battle of Lincoln in 1217.
